Motorcyclist Retro = Motorcycle Retro
« on: February 04, 2009, 11:02:22 AM »
Have just heard about Motorcyclist Retro

Have also just heard the publisher pulled the pin on it (after 2 issues I think) cos of economy, even tho it sold 25,000 copies.

However the editor is continuing it privately by subs, but called Motorcycle Retro. Check out motorcycleretro.com

JC,
I picked up one of the mags on the w/end at the local papershop.
Was very impressed.
Interviems with Malcom Smith and RogerD and an article on Jones and the elsinore devolopment....even pics of a proto type 355cc elsinore.
Would buy it again.

Top magazine, especially that issue #2. Is the latest one in the shops the new Motorcycle retro? Looks pretty good too, though a bit steep price wise. Will probably grab a copy next payday.

Issue 3 is out now you can buy it for around $15.00 AUD delivered from the UK ebay from the (magazine man), lattest and last issue features the the XR75, a mate brought a copy of number 3 yesterday from a local news agent so it must be out here now, issue 1 is very collectable now, I just got issue 1 from the States yesterday BUT I had to buy issue 2 & 3 with it, it cost me 60 USD for the set, I got a second set for a mate, it is a great read also features road bikes as well, the editor is going to restart the mag under a similar name in March or April, thats the word in another forum, hope so.

Finally got motivated to buy this one, not bad at all. Not quite as good to me as #2 in that I am not as much into RD350s and XR75s, but as a vintage mag it's damn good. I just got an email from Mitch tonight - he sent it out to everyone who's been in touch letting us know how things are going. Looks like it'll be 2 issues in 2009, and then 2 in the first half of 2010 and hopefully becoming more frequent after that. He's gotten great feedback and is really keen to keep it happening. You beauty, now I've got three great vintage mags to choose from - one each from Oz, the UK and the US.

He's got a new website coming too, probably around the end of March...

Have all 3 issues,  I can understand a few readers being a little bit disappointed with the content in issue #3  not having a classic MXer read in it after issue #2 excellent story on the birth of the CR250M but for me seeing "MY REPLICA" XR75 PK and DG frames that I made  in this issue was a real buzz for me!!!!.  ;)
