AMA SX - Yamaha the big loser?
« on: January 19, 2009, 06:20:49 pm »
Interesting reading the forums and so on. The talk is that Reed is only competitive with Stewart because Stewart's bike is crap. Yamabog they call it. The talk also says that the YZ450 doesn't handle and it's leaving Stewart all over the place. Disregard that so far Yamahas have actually done very well, or that James won Bercy and the US Open on the YZ.

So here is Yamaha, pleased they've scored Stewart on their team, and all we see so far is bad press.

My opinion? I suspect that Reed has a winning combination and James is rattled. He's over riding the thing. That's how it looked at A1, and as for the 'crash', well, yes the YZ did hesitate, but I suspect Stewart deliberately went to cross Reed's line and put him off and it just didn't work out. That said, there's no doubt the RMZ seems to be a better package than the YZF.

Wonder how the past 3 years would have gone if Chad was on the Suzuki and RC on the YZ?
