Rewind your own stator coils

I had a motoplat mini 6 tested by Betta Bikes recently for $90.  They then replaced the trigger coil in it fnd charged an extra $165.  Cheaper than a new PVL ignition but you still have an old unit that has no guarrantee of lasting beyond tomorrow.....a bit like us VMX riders really!

you can do it yourself... i done it 2 my kids cr80 it was an older bike say mid 80,s with the pencil type....my mates a leco so got some wire of him a bit thicker than the original..and kept cutting it 2 length till i got close 2 the reading the manual gives..wind it back on solder it and bobs your uncle $10 special and its lasted 5 years

Good on you k2000.  Sounds liek a bit of mucking about, but obbviosly it can be done.

Doesn't sound any harder than when we used to rewind slot car motors when we were primary school kids.

that is true there an extreamly basic system
