Speaking of swingarms, I've recently been communicating offline with new forum member Peter Villacaro from Florida. He's kindly put me in contact with Walt Boyd, the original constructor of the Boyd and stellings frame and swingarms. Peter informed me that Walts son still has the moulds and tooling for the original Boyd and Stellings swingarms and that he (Peter) has mentioned to him that it may be a good idea to perhaps reissue some of the more popular swingarms. I reckon there'd be a ready market for quality period correct swingarms like the B&S and PDI. What do you guys think?
As well as the Boyd and Stellings Suzuki project, I also have a Boyd and Stellings swingarm on my Maico and think they're a quality product. Ken Smith had one on his former CZ as well and shares my opinion.

cool, I have 3 or 4 various PDI ones and they are all the same sort of cast up arms....better than the flimsy arrangement that came stock.

 Here's a release from 1969 announcing the new B&S swingarm. I think PDI swingarms are the same as B&S, made by the newer owners. I've also seen AMP swingarms that are pretty much the same.

yeah I think I have 3 generations of them, my MX250 arm is gen 1, the one with fixed shock position on my 75 KX seems to be Gen 2 and finally the cantilever behemoth that fits RM A/B seems to be the last.

I am sure it makes more sense to use castings but they not as pretty as my WB, GMC or Foxy one.  Fab'd arms with plenty of good welding are the only thing that really satisfies a swing arm fetish.  ;D

I remember a recent post,  when we started talking about afrermarket swingarms for vmx.  Seem to remember my idea of fitting an ovation swingarm was shot down because it would never meet MA rules.  Still,  I guess this is a trickery subject,  under marque.  :)   I am liking this thread.

If the performance parts are period then the MA can kiss my ass. Thanks for the paperwork on the BS swingarm Firko, really interesting that they were available in 69. Story goes that some factory Suzukis ran alloy arms albeit painted black.

The MX250A is one of those bulletproof bikes that you can get a lot of after market parts for.  But you should try buying a Yamaha NOS rear 51 tooth sprocket, got quoted $393.00 today from the "stealer"

understand the response Graeme, should of heard what I said!!!!  All I did was quote the part number,what a joke, so now looking for an after market sprocket.
