CR125M fork casing
« on: December 03, 2008, 08:38:41 pm »
Hello,
I'm in the early stages of restoring a 74 CR125M. The lower fork casings are in pretty poor condition - different shades of silver etc. Are these casings plated with something or is it simply the alloy discolouring.
Any ideas on how to get them looking good again?
Had some prices today to have the top chrome tubes hard chromed - around $400 the pair, why is it so expensive? Anyone in Perth had it done for a better price?

Regards, Ron

YSS, is that to do the hard chroming, or to recondition the lower casing. Cheers, Ron

you shouldnt need to pay any more than $250 a pair for hardchroming. try RAD hard chroming in QLD or hardchrome services (which i always use) in Adelaide.ph (08) 82952822 or  (08) 82942185 or http://www.hardchromeservices.com.au/
