OSSA PHANTOM saying hello.
« on: November 25, 2008, 07:50:04 pm »
Good evening everyone. I'm an American engineer working in Yokohama Japan and as far as I can tell I own the only OSSAs in Japan, a 74 phantom and a 75 desert phantom. I have been racing and riding since 1973. I started out on an OSSA berkshire pioneer and then spent several years on CZs as my employer frowned on riding something other than what he sold.
I have been to OZ many times, north, south, east and west, Gove too!
There isn't much vintage action in Japan unless you count street bikes. I live close to a dealer who specializes in British iron and one other shop that occasionally has some vintage dirt bikes in the window
which I believe he imports for collectors, in the past I have seen a 460 Yamaha, 82 250 KTM, and a CR 250
at his place.
If anyone has any OSSA questions please feel free to ask.
Jim

G'Day Jim,
Nice to have you on board, I'm in the process of doing a gp2.....albeit very slowly, parts aren't exactly easy to come across in this neck of the woods. (at least at a price that might even slightly resemble reasonable)
I have posted a question on Phantom ignitions in the Spanish space, maybe you can spot the difference.
