Very nice,     what is the make of your front fender? is it a PReston Petty, or a Tony D. ?  sure looks good, keep it up!!!!!!

Hey, I just noticed the the piece of metal on your front fender,    Is that original equipment that came on your HL, or is it something that was added later?   The reason for the question is that my HL had one on it when I bought it and I thought it was something added on by someone.

Tony D....wasn't he the guy in Saturday Night Fever?

Anyway fender is rare bird, NOS Tony D with Prestons stickers still on it.

The problem with the original style HL exhaust is it hits most fenders (I tried quite a few), so you have to munt (kiwi spell checker) it quite a way forward, or cut it off Supermotard style. Then I had a PP brace lying about and I thought what the hell, give me a place to tie on the fencing pliers.

'Tony D' is a model name for a Preston Petty fender. they also had a fender called a 'mudder' and 'Baja'

you can get those stickers that go on the side wings/edges from www.vintagefactory.com

Hi Marc
Welcome to the Aussie club rooms.
I like the NZ spell checker, I would like to see more of that.
Interested to read of the front guard problem, have you tried the 77-79 YZ guard?
Guard clearance can be a problem on a lot of 2 strokes as well & one small trick is to put some flat washers between the guard & triple clamp on the rear mounts only

Hi Geoff,

I tried NOS YZ front guard, same problem. Early 80s HUsky 510 front guard I think would be the go. Anyway no washers involved, I machine tapered alloy shim.

Notice some pictures of the pro tech footpeg set up, I think the GMC solution is vastly better.
