« on: August 25, 2008, 08:18:53 pm »
Gents,

Currently doing a rebuild on an RM 125 c to get it ready for my young bloke for VMX next year.

I'm after an air box, carb to box boot, kick starter and a handfull of other parts.

Thanks for looking.

yup the carb boot is available new from Alphasports.com or for a little more $ probably at local dealers also. The cheapy kickstarts work fine and they are about $25+post on ebay. With the airbox if the bike is just a racer then also look at RM125A and B boxes as well. Sometimes easier to find than the C airboxes and with a little re-drilling they'll fit up fine ;)

Suzuki Chaps,

Wealth of knowledge you have. I have called Roy and found out he is moving address and has his gems boxed up but he is having a look for me. Top guy.

This weekend I split the motor only to find the 2nd drive gear has deposited one of its teeth in the bottom of the gearbox. Looks like no other damage, only that one gear. Need one of them too now. Any ideas?

Doesn't end there, the gear selector shaft had been rebirthed (read welded) in a previous life and had to be cut to get it out. Bit of sad weekend really..... :o

How do you get that gear off????? It's really toit - toit like a toiger......

Clarkey.... Are you in the Illawarra by any chance? I'm at Corrimal. Mobile is 0401 692 800.

While I've got you chaps what do you recommend with bringing a the alloy fork legs back up to spec. Mine still have the clear on them with a bit of corrosion and the metal stickers on the back. Not bad for 30years of service.

All the best

Pete, 2nd drive gear (16teeth) is still available for $26US + post. Same gear shared with the RM100N/T/X RM125A/B/C/N/T '76-'81 part number 24221-41304. Gear selector shaft is the same as the PE175C/N, PE250B/C/N,RM125A/B/C, RM250A/B/C/C2 This is also showing as still available new for $75US if nothing else turns up. Part number for the shaft is 25510-41X00 (original number 25510-41101)

Clarkey,

Thanks for he offer. Might have to take you up on the book. At this stage a couple of Heaven club members are on the case. We got the bearing off with a lot of heat and good luck. Gear and shaft have gone to Jens for an expert opinion. Got a number or give me a call.

Gents - Update,

Most of the bits I needed arrived from the US. It's starting to go back together now. Still looking for an airbox though. Does the PE 175 one bolt straight up?
