KTM 80/81 38mm Marzocchi Forks
« on: September 25, 2008, 12:27:03 am »
A quick question.
How do the 38mm KTM spec Marzocchi's stack up against the 38mm units from the Japanese manafactures at the time. ie: would it be an improvement to swap out the Japanese units for the KTM units?

I think thay work fine.
Must use Good fork seals .

I think you would be a bit short.
As Ktm have very long fork tubes

I would leave the Marzocchis on ya KTM ...

I have these same forks on my 1981 Can-An MX-6.  You need to make sure the axle is centered, so that there is no binding throughout the stroke.  There is also a damper rod trick that Works Performance used on the 1978 Marzocchis that I have had done to mine, but have not tested them out yet.  I will be switching forks soon and will report how it worked here.
