360 Auto Big End

So I pulled the barrel and the big end is more or less seized.

Not having done a crank before what's the best approach for the half smart shed numpty?......
- Split the cases, pull the crank and do it myself?
- Take it to someone?
- Buy a second hand crank that's serviceable and replace?

Travelling a bit for work so outsourcing it seems pretty attractive right now. Any suggestions in Brisbane?

Don't go second hand route, if you've got to split it, do it proper....even if it takes a little longer.

the auto's are pretty simple. get on to Cafe husky for how to's as there is a passionate bunch of auto owners there. Phil at husky parts will have a rod kit or HVA factory. you should be able to download the manual and parts book from HVA as well.

yep as above. if your mechanically handy and like tinkering pull it all apart and then send the crank for rebuilt as its a fiddly job requiring special tooling and equipment (press, dial indicator, etc).

replace all seals and bearings and assemble. if your time poor and cashed up send the lot out.

Can anyone suggest where to get parts - gaskets, bearings, seals etc? HVA factory don't do autos apparently.
