So went out of my way at midday on Friday ,,, only because I am trying to get the true picture of this set up rather than the steady stream of BS from the usual few. Woolies at Mayfield NSW.

All four machines were inoperative due to being FULL

I went inside woolies and reported that the machines were all inoperative. Which turned out to be one very interesting and informative conversation.

NOT so green when one has fueled a trip to the tip for a NON-EVENT

You can get paid in cash.

No, you do not get paid in cash.

Every way of personal remuneration depends upon you supplying one's personal details.
So once again our dumbass country places misguided faith into Goliath companies who promise to safeguard our personal details. Not to share or sell them, yeah right ::)

We are screwed here now. Even the local recycling centre takes your address, licence number, rego and your account details to deposit coin for cans. No more cash.
And then there is depositing of money into your toll road account. Deposited $200 last Monday, leaves my account immediately, and it shows up on my toll account Noon today. So who has had my $200 for 6 days?

When I was a young bloke, we use to take them back to the local milk bar and get a refund. No bank account or ID needed. Nice and simple.
This new system makes it too complicated. I pay rates for my yellow bin. That's where they are going.

I remember the old days of doing 'bottle drives' for the Scouts
We used to collect long necks to sell them back to the breweries, a line of us would be throwing bottles to each other from the bottle stack to the trailer, then from the trailer to a stack at the Scout hall for the Brewery to pick up.
It helped to fund camping equipment.

I doubt kids would be allowed to throw glass bottles to each other nowadays, OH&S would be all over everyone.
Christ, I was refused to be allowed to put a bottle or Argon in my ute last week as it seems OH&S now demand that bottles be carried upright. Like the gas knows which way is up or down :o
Couldn't carry the bottle upright without a special rack to hold it so had to wait for them to deliver it instead. Lost a days welding waiting for it to turn up >:(

That's a new 1 to me Geoff, always used to strap them to ute deck with base facing away from cab. Can see what the reasoning is but in reality when did you last here of the valve getting knocked off a bottle during transportation
