Got canon eos 1000 and when I turn it on card write protected , I've tried three different cards including a new one but still telling me card write protected . Any idea to fix it before I take it to the shop  ???

most likely a switch in the card receptacle which is stuck. Get a good light and have a gander. Mebbe something stuck or bent.

Reading the manual over an hour no luck there , told the wife may have to take it to the shop where we got it , then something clicked you tube  ::) how to fix it was on there took two secs to fix .

The first card may have been faulty.

The error may be logged in the file System.

Go in to the Menu and find Factory Default or Factory reset.

Press Default.  This should reset and clear any Errors.

Many High End Projectors have this built in for Protection.
Example if a Fan Fails. Even when fan is replaced.
Still will not start till Error is Cleared.
