86 CR125 power valve release
« on: April 06, 2017, 09:41:21 pm »
The part is called a release by Honda, it is located in the water pump housing on the opposite side of the water pump but on the same drive shaft. It normally has 2 small tabs where the power valve actuator arm sits in. The tabs on mine are both broken off.
I'm sure they're not there for looks, but the only purpose I can see that the tabs do is stop the release from spinning, but as it's on a bearing I can't see why it shouldn't rotate. I have assembled and it runs fine, although I haven't run it on the track yet, probably will next weekend tho.
Has anyone done the same and if so we're there any issues?
If not I'll know next week regardless.
Thx
