Old Bike Magazine was in the letterbox last night, it is a good read. There's a story on the old moorebank mx track and heaps of good stories.

I'll have to get a copy from the newsagent just to read about the old Morebank track. I would have been a kid when it was operating and would love to have at least had a look back then.

Guess I was lucky enough to experience Amaroo, Jiliby, Dargle, Bilpin and still get to ride Kembla and even have a fang at Menai on he odd occasion. I reckon all old MX tracks should be heritage listed.

By the way I was driving through Dunedoo (central west NSW) a couple of months back late in the afternoon and as I was leaving the town I was surprised to see a large sign pointing to a motocross track. All excited I headed in the direction of the sign but could not find anything remotely resembling a track, just some ploughed fields, hopefully I was off course.

I had my first race at Moorbank. I came second last in that first race but the fact that I beat somebody set me off on a journey that took me through every facet of the sport from racer to sponsor to administrator to 'ace reporter' that I still dearly love nearly 40 years later.
