Swap 74-82 bits and pieces?
« on: June 27, 2008, 09:11:36 am »
Gents, since i missed out going to big show down south, and i have a couple of projects, anyone interested in the following to swap, buy or sell etc.
I have:
* 400cc /78 year mod engine/ exc cond.
* Piggyback Ohlins reach shocks / exc cond.
* 38mm forks / tripple clamp -
* 40mm Marzocchi forks / tripple clamps - came off a 250cc MX / 82 mod
* S&W rear shocks (not that flash condition good for parts)
* GS 300 / 85(?) mod bike complete, less some bits / unrestored.

Looking for:
74 mx project:  Any section or complete exhaust for 74 / 250cc
76 gs project:  250 cc engine, or at least bottom cases.  [my engine bottom end was wasted away, have looked at weld build up, but very expensive exercise]
Handle bars for a 74

Cheers Ash (oldmxnut)

Ash,

I might be able to use the 38mm forks. Do you know what they came off, a brand and a price please.

All the best

Pete

Checked out a potential resto/racer today in a 76 KTM MC5 400, motor pieces are pretty sad looking so the 400 engine you are offering Oldmxnut could be the deciding factor on wether to proceed.
   The email address I previously posted is actually incorrect, could you please ph me on 0419270390.

Apologies Gents for not replying earlier.  I had got busy after the original post and forgotten about it.  Please look for individaul replys to requests.

Also the 38mm forks and triple clamps are from a Pursang MK9 250 or 370cc and/or a Frontera MK10 250 or 370 cc.. So I am told by the Bultaco Parts guys in Victoria.  Good nick $200 for the lot if anyone interested.

76 / 400cc Engine is very good condition.  Very clean inside. Surface restoration would make it come up nice.  $600 if anyone interested

Need someone to identify the GS bike.  SN is KTM 8709*52546     Also a compliance place with some numbers and 400GS stamped on it.  So prob a 400 GS??

Regards Ash.
