Expensive yes, about $65 au delivered, a lot for a bit of hose, but I don't have anything at all at the moment. I'll spend a bit of time seeing if there is any cheap automotive or industrial alternative, maybe some flexible ball joint boot will do, but in the end getting the correct boot and knowing it will fit straight on will probably be worth it.

After one of our guys sucked a rivet from his airbox into his barrell and chewed it to death i have fitted a KN via a tube inside the box, which also pissed off that stupid triangle mess of mesh, might be a better alternative for you, as it seals properly now.

Another guy in the club had a problem where his shrank and went hard ( nathan?) and it wouldnt meet the distance, so he used a radiator hose of the same 57 mm ID and it looks better than the original and actually fits better, it goes straight rather than the dumb curve the normal one has that never seems to line up any way.  think he said the hose was from super cheap and was $12, but he got 3 section out of it and did all his other at the same time.   also they sell it in colour now if you want factory wank :O)

YEp once i seen the damage that bloody pop rivet did , and then the fact he missed the next 2 state rounds cause he was still waiting for a new sleeve to be fitted , $$$$ etc.  i went out and put a splash plate in place of the rear airbox guard bit and a nice KN filter, i always wonder about that stupid triagle mesh thing o and that secured it for me , bonus is with both method tuning the jets or removing the carby is a piece of piss rather than the fighting with an old hardend up stupid air pipe that would normally ensure and would never ever seem to go back on now matter how many screw drivers you had in your hand.

Do it , youll love me for it !
