Hello
« on: August 09, 2016, 02:54:59 am »
Hi, hope everyone is doing well. I'm Sam, originally from alice springs but lived all over the place and now spend six months of the year working and living in china.

My Dad recently finished a  restoration on a RM370 and after a quick few rides on it i loved it and i'm hoping to get it setup nicely and go and enter a few VMX round on it next time i am back, the bike is in south east south australia so likely head over to victoria or whatever is close by.

Once i look around the forum and figure it out i will post up some pics of the 370 restoration, i was really impressed with how good it was to ride!

Have a great day!

Cheers.

Rock on!

No bad puns?!
I only clicked on this for the bad puns, and now I feel sad.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

G,day Von!

I will be looking after the 370 a nicely as possible, but it's too good a bike to ride to not want to cane it around a bit. I can see why they were popular when they were new for sure.

I found a 76 popular cycling mag with a whole lot of Bassett racing stuff for the 370. engine mounts, axle bolts, fork bolts, new swingarm, two pipes and suspension upgrades including fox damper kit and kyb remote shocks. there was a lot of discussion re how bad the std swing arm is..is it?

I am no where near a good enough rider to push the 370 to its limit so i can't say, the swingarm seemed fine to me on the couple of rides i had on it so far.
Rock on!

my thoughts as well. they also stated that Bassett had a port job available for the bike but popular cycling didn't know anyone who wanted more power so they left it std.
