Mikuni TM flat slide on a 4 banger!?

2 stroke carb on a 4 stroke?? I think ill try it anyways if I get time,.... but wondering what people think about it? Iv got a spare Mikuni TM, was thinking of trying to get it working on my XT500  :P

Brother has a vm 34 on his Honda xl 305 kitted vmxer and it works fine not a TM but thought I would chuck it up anyway

know some quick tt xt sr 500's and in sidecars  all use VM36 IWT Ian Williams will do you a treat on a new one.
big bore kit say 560cc use VM38 round slide
ask for carby to suit and start rich, these guys have all the poop, may I suggest the SUDCO 5th editon Mikuni tuneing manual its great value about $25 + post has everything in there (bible)  ;)

I have a 1983 510 4 banger Husky..it has a flatslide Mic on it.. seems to start and run OK..

Its running fine with the current round slide, I thought the TM flatslide might be a performance upgrade. Guess ill find out  ;)

Got the pilot n main circuit working well, any XT guys running a mikuni flatside? Got any specs for needle n needle jet?

I wonder how the 510 would perform with a Keihin FCR39? Flat slide pumper designed for fourstrokes.

ask Nathan, if you want the best carby combo, if its for personal pleasure and not for raceing that makes for alot more choice

I bet it would run great. I have a friend that installed a FCR 37 on his tweaked DR500. I wouldn't believe it if he didn't do it, but he can out start 490s and 480s on a bike that started life as a big fat trail bike
