Spoke treatments
« on: December 13, 2015, 05:21:37 pm »
I was in a Yamaha shop the other day looking at the latest model YZ's while waiting to be served and noticed that the spokes on them are black! Quite a stunning look that suited the appearance really well. The spokes are finished to a smooth gloss and I couldn't tell if it it was anodised or powder coated? Anyway at the risk of asking a unpopular question - does anyone know how spokes are being finished in a satin black?

You can only anodise aluminium so you can rule that out. Black paint will chip whether its powder coat or most other paint coating so I would have it a guess they are zinc plated & black finished (usually a chromate + dye).
