HEy foreigners,
I got two fork legs in a bike ATM and have noticed they appear to be both what i would consider right hand legs ( as in the brake bracket is on the same side on each leg ) any how i say montessa as they have a 'M" at the bottom in a circle, any how a well respect motessa owner told me they come of a motessa 73/74 somthing or other. Not that im that keen on what they are but on if they are worth any thing to any one ?
i was going to cut these brake tags off them as they do my head in and im using a spooler so i dont need the brace, but then i thought i would ask if they are of any value restoration wise to someone here and if so i wont go wrecking them by cutting up a perfectly good set of forks, just cause i dont like the look of the mounts.
Would be happy to swap or sell them for the cost of replacing them with a similar set like betors or cerrani style ( pre 75 somthings)
Is this making sense ? are these forks worth keeping original for somone ? if so how much or what swap, and if not there getting a tidy up, as they work fine i just dont like the stay mounts and they also have sometop nut with a wide rim that fouls my bars so i cant up them higher in the triples at the moment.
this was brought to a head on the weekend as i raced this frame and i needed to lower the front end and these things couldnt do it unless i pulled the bars off and then refitted them ( all too hard at the time)
