I'm no expert but I don't think these work like you think they might.

I'm pretty sure they rely on other users of the same tech being in Bluetooth range (20m?).
If there are a lot of users around.......

Real GPS trackers are cheap these days, but require a SIM card to communicate with. Also require a power supply or to be charged every couple of days. The SIM can be very cheap to run if you only want the position if you "interrogate" it. More costly if you want it to leave a "track".

As far as I can make out.

I'm still thinking of putting a GPS tracker in my trailer.
I have a battery, and an alarm that texts me if anyone messes with it. (I've been told a Tennon Saw is a better self defense weapon, than say a baseball bat. I keep one handy in case I need to trim some dowl....)

Guys, if you are going to use a tracker that contains a sim card- VERY important to check if it is GSM. Remembering the GSM network is going to be turned off soon.
