My Maico story

About 12 months ago i was talking to my close friend , Les from Mainly maico.

We hatched a deal to get me a near as new 81 model MC 490 maico.

We discussed in detail what the bike should have on it ,in terms of accessories like wheel colour , type of pipe , reed valve or piston port , right down to all the minor details.

Following this and many discussions with Eric at Mainly Maico in the states Les and i came to a decision on what the bike would be.

We paid for the bike " i think maybe last December " and all we had to do was wait.

Well last thursday July 31st 2008 i got the final call from Les , "Rob i have your bike and Im looking at it in the crate" and i said shit Les i cant come until Tuesday as im going to the gold coast for the week-end . Well , i dont mind saying, all week-end all i could think about was that call.

Well today i went to Medowie on the central coast to pick up the bike, well most people that know me l will tell you that I CAN TALK UNDER WATER WITH MARBLES IN MY MOUTH.

When i turned up at Les's home today to pick up my bike , i was absolultey speechless. (Probably so quite that Les and Stack thought i was unhappy) This bike is a work of art and everything + more than i expected. This attention to detail and service supplied by Les and Eric is the best i have ever received in relation to purchasing an item.

We sat around for a couple of hrs ooing and arring before we haeded home with 490 in the trailer.

Thanks to Les at Mainly Maico , the 490 was well worth the wait.

The good news is that there are a number of other 490's finished and ready for delivery in Australia.  Dont miss out , call Les if you want one , because i can guarantee that the first to see these works of art will buy them. Dont miss out

I will post some photo's Tommorrow.

Thats my story and Im a happy happy guy,  I have my MC 490, exactly as per our plan ,  matching numbers and in as near as new condition as anybody could ever expect.

Shoey

Now THAT is a beautiful story. I experienced the sort of fuzzies I got when I was a little tacker hearing, 'Twas the night before Christmas...' :'( ;) :D

Hey Shoey,
Nice bike. Good to see you saved some money on the bike stand.
I also didn't realise you had a Honda as well - you used to be 100% Husky, now it seems you are anybodies.
Have fun,
