When you think about it it's a very smart idea.

I think a few of the mid 80's KX had an oval bore carb.  Back in '85 I oval bored the flatslides on my GSXR750, made a big difference to that.

Have a couple of Oko D slide carbs for my Sherco that are like that although not to the same effect, up until 1/2 throttle they flow like a 28mm but when wide open are more like a 30mm so you kind of get the best of both worlds

Standard on mid-80s KX125s and KDX200s. This looks like the smaller one from an 83-85 KDX (and possibly 82/83 KX125?), due to the choke location.

I hate them with a passion, due to the absence of a idle mixture screw.

This one has all the standard stuff Nathan including a idle mixture screw.
Does have a weird jet needle setup tho.

TS250 uses that same carby found on the TS185. Just has different jetting.

That's interesting to know. I assume the TS ones are smaller again. Any idea of the minor and major dimensions of the throat?

small honda singles (XL185's etc) have "hour glass" sectioned venturi',
