I have my father's very original 76 XL350 which I did a bit of work on a while back so that I could put club rego on and ride it around once in a while. I only ride it on the road and the stock 48/15 sprocket combo makes the poor old girl sing too much for my liking. When I did the sprockets I changed it to a 520 chain setup. However now that I'd like to get a smaller rear sprocket say around 42T there isn't any joy. Local bike shop told me their supplier only stocks the 48T. I emailed XLInt in the USA and they can post one out but makes the whole exercise unviable due to the Aussie dollar. I am hoping someone on here might know of a solution. I know Chain Gang could make one but trying to find a cheap alternative if possible. Maybe another model Honda or make of bike could be modified to suit. Open to suggestions.
