Painted plastics

Tidying up a bike that has painted number backgrounds. Any tips on how to remove the paint for proper backgrounds? I'm guessing paint stripper would be too harsh on the plastic.

I used a Bostik product called enviro-stripper on my yz plastics without any problems. Obviously a test run in a hidden spot on your plastics would be a good idea.

I use Dupli-Color Paint Stripper to remove plastic side-cover decals etc.  Works very well and doesn't affect the plastic.

Spill some Dettol on it and see what happens

You can try a small test section but in my experience, normal paint stripper from Bunnings works well and doesnt affect the plastic.  The plastic on motorbikes is propylene based and you can pour petrol on your tank and guards without any problems.  Here are some RM80 plastics that were painted.  They had a thick coat of paint over all the mudguards and side covers.  I uses normal stripper without any problems..  before and after pics below...

I use plastic paint stripper in an aerosol can. Get it from a automotive paint supplier. It's designed to remove non oem paint from plastic without deforming or damaging the plastic.
