MX250 AND MX360
« on: July 13, 2008, 03:09:06 pm »
HI
i have a lot of parts to make up both these bikes but only 1 gen mx frame.i have 3 dt frames.i will make these bikes as race bikes.no mx tanks but 2 dt tanks.there is no real difference in the two frames in geom.but lots of lugs to cut off on the dt ant the no plate lugs to make and weld on.is this worth while to do as my mx360 will use the gen mx250 frame as no no match.both mx motors are gen motors and have new crank kits to be installed,or should i sell the lot and buy a 1973 maico 250 95% complete.i only ride club dirt track and not that good at either. i just make up the no.and ride my old bikes dont care where i come last is ok by me.

Jim, sounds like what i'll be doing down the track a little. my 250 will be a matching #MX but my 360 will be a converted DT360. i'd be interested to know what cranks you are useing for both. are they NOS OEM or have you found a suitable aftermarket for both as my 250 really needs a freshh rod kit put through it.
i'd keep going with what your doing as i reckon the MX/DT hybrids make great race bikes.
