Lester Rowley - whereabouts
« on: November 19, 2014, 09:50:19 pm »
Does anyone know where Lester Rowley is these days?
I am a big fan of his 70s/80s CCM riding days.

Cheers

It was magic to watch (and hear) him booming around the hills and valleys of Foster Park at Mulbring in NSW.
Especially as he was one of very few competing on a 4banger against the hordes of wailing two strokes.
And he and the bike were so competitive to boot.

I remember watching him at Tivoli, chasing Gall and Gunter, right on their tails. Amazing for a four banger in those days. When he passed the spectators you could feel the vibrations in your gut. Gave me a love for the big thumpers, followed by a few XTs over the years. Memories ........ ????

Hi Hoony it was in the 1976 November edition of Trail and Track. Interesting to see all the old adds and prices of goods back then, makes for some interesting reading.
