Ikon shocks any good?

Does anyone here have any feedback on Ikon shocks?

I bought a pair in 1995 for my TY250, when they were all I could find. I bought the lightest springs they sold for them which were too stiff. The damping was set up for use on a road bike so when I fitted lighter springs the rebound damping (on the lightest setting) was way too strong for the springs. The shaft travel is about the same as my 1970s Special D Konis (about 3.25 inches before it hits the bottoming cushions)
They are very well made and I would recommend them for use on twinshock road bikes, due to their consistent damping action and sturdy design.

I have a set of steel bodied Icons on my 74 CR 125. Very pleased with them, they work well and are mid range in price, been on the bike for several years with no issues.

   We had a Custom made set for the Maico 250 Gp. Correct Body and Shaft Length.

   They are fitted with Koni/Ikon Springs  204,s.  Soft bump stop rubbers. Cost Over $600.00. without springs

    Used them at Aust Titles this year in Queensland. With very good Results.

     May get another set built.

I must be unlucky, bought a pair for my RM125B, they failed after a couple of rides, sent them back to Ikon (at my cost) they conceded there was a problem, rebuilt them and sent them back. Used a couple of times since, and they have failed again. One has lost damping and bottoms (locks up) after about 30mm travel (hit a hole in the track on the weekend and felt like I fractured my spine). Not going to waste my money sending them back again, have lost total faith in the product. Mate of mine bought a set, they leaked after first ride, they didn't want to know him. What a waste of money, cost me $700 and I am putting the 40 year old originals back on. Not happy.

Just don't want to see anyone else on here get the same result. Lot of money to throw away on a product I thought would be reasonable value, wasn't expecting Ohlins but expected them to last more than a couple of laps!

As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't buy anything other than ohlins.

Maybe for a pre 75 where the 4 " doesn't really do much anyway.

like KTM47 likes Ohlins I swear by Works Performance - cheaper than Ohlins and have significantly improved the bike I put them on - and no issues whatsoever.
