Australian Motorcycle Museum - some VMX on display
« on: July 08, 2008, 10:05:50 am »
Just in case you didnt know..there is a fantastic motorcycle museum 50km west of Brisvegas between Ispwich & Gatton.  They have mainly road bikes but there are about a dozen VMX bikes there as well - CZ, Ducati, Husky, Penton, Jawa, Rokon, plus a nice group of Jap trail bikes - DT, TS, XL etc.  Also a great VMX sidecar outfit based on a Husky 500 air cooled.  Well worth a visit if you're heading out west of Brissie.  Allow 1 - 2 hours to take a good gander. $15 entry.  The VMX bikes are jammed together as they dont have the room to display them  properly.

Good stuff, you'll have to post it up again with the other QLD events when they are posted on here.
Especially for the travelling/visiting Interstate Nationals VMXer's in 09. ;D
Best is in the West !!

Do they take them out and fire them up now and then????  Most very likely No! They are usually crammed in some out of the way spot gathering dust and dead blowflys. Personally I hate seeing WASTED racing bikes just stagnant and rotting away in museums. One $15 dollar entrance fee would buy enough fuel to start 5 bikes at least once a year.  Might as well be in a landfill at least they will once more get to feel the dirt. If they do not do anything but sit there ,they are not in museums they are in mausoleums.   Tim754

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
