cz 125 with mikuni jetting
« on: September 05, 2014, 07:44:12 pm »
hi any one running a 32mm mikuni on a cz 125 ? if so what jets are you running ?
fitted mikuni to mine using std jets that come with carb  #200 Main Jet, #35 Pilot Jet, #159 Q-6 Needle Jet and #6DP-17needle ,
starts and idles nice , bit of hesitation just off of idle yet to try out top end
read on CZ madness to run a 190 main but the  needle jet and needle number they give doesn't exist any more
hopfully get to give it a run tomorrow

Numbers off a different site that are listed as Pete Maly spec are
Main 200
Pilot 35
Needle jet Q6
Needle 5FJ9
Slide 3.0

I'd say you're pretty close as a starting point, needle appears to be only difference & probably pretty close to the same

thanks tony , that list is what I was using as a reference , I have quizzed the local supplier about the needle listed by pete , he said it doesn't exist , couldn't even give me a reference to what it was

Just looking through the needles fitted to the bigger bikes I wonder if there was a typo & the correct code for the needle is 6FJ9, the fact that your carb had a 6 series needle standard leads me to think that

i have thought of the typo but i think it was the FJ part the the mikuni guy couldn't find
we did try 6fj9 but that didn't come up either they may be superceeded numbers ?

The main CZ needle for early piston port  motors .125/250

6FJ6 DOES MOST MODELS maybe , that is the typo error

Cheers

rode it today and it goes very well , much better than before with the jikov , starts easy hot and cold and even idles well ! maybe still slightly lean with the 200 main going to try a 210
the needle I tried in the middle to start with then went to the full rich position and the mid felt a bit stronger , going to make a few call Monday to see what I can find out
have seen the 6fj6 spare parts lists on the mikuni site so they are avalible  , will ask what it is compared to what I am running now , thanks :)
