hi all does anyone know how much oil is in the forks cheers leigh

This is were you should start with forks , all forks this is how to start to set up forks. Allot of people seem to ask the same question.
Go to super cheap and buy a 4 litre auto trans oil
ATF
which happens to be around 15 weight.
Take your springs out and fill the tubes till its 150mm(6inch) from the top. Go and ride your bike and see how that feels.
If the forks dive to much under braking and settle a bit to low mid corner add some more oil 20mm at a time.

15 w fork oil with a 175mm air gap ~ Std springs pilot 88kg plus riding gear - works fine for me

Std springs on those are about .33kg, way to soft, especially when they are 35 years old. You want the springs to be about .44kg like a modern bike. The oil level is what Mick and oldfart says but oil wont fix soft springs.
