CalVMX Event at Carlsbad Replica Track at Anza

Had the opportunity to drop in at a CalVMX race day today at The Ranch in Anza where they have reproduced the Carlsbad track. Awesome track and awesome bunch of friendly people. The first pit we stopped to chat at we had beers thrust into our hands and the pit racing began Some very nice machinery on display and some very fast guys and gals racing. They has something scarier than sidecars racing there......trikes  That takes nerve!  Here's a few shots. Some of the bikes wouldn't be legal on Oz but they sure have a hell of a lot of fun modifying and making them far better than they ever were back in the day. It's a formula that works for them!









Highly modified Triumph running Husky front end and rear brakes. Not much left of the original engine. Owner reckoned he could shave 6 lb off by changing the flywheel!









TM 400 in Redline frame.



406 ATK with single shock and disc brake on countershaft.



74 CR 400 with every mod known to man. Frame cut and shut. Goes very well.




CR 390 with Mossbarger reeds crammed into an 83 frame.
