Is George Bush an idiot? Is Angelina Jolie beautiful? Are thongs made of rubber? If you have to ask if a 501 is valuable you need to study the history of our sport a little more. ???  BTW....those numbers don't look Maico to me.

Actually Firko, the only "thongs" I care for are worn by the misses MJ-and not made or rubber. Angelina is arguably really hot, yes-the other two are indisputable ;D ;D

We actually have a local club member and SC AHRMA racer-Joe Busby-you might know him, Firko-anyway he woned a 501 new in 1973. Well about 93-98 we had a local shop which sold old bikes....and he found his same 501..which he had sold in 1977. BTW got it for $800 in 93. He races it today-the only 501 I know of being raced, albeit with alloy tank, circle F pipe and VI plastic etc.

James old mate...where have you been hiding? We've missed your wisdom. I should have remembered that thongs in this country country
are called flip flops (or shower shoes as my Californian ex called 'em) in your country.

What James was thinking. They'd still look good in rubber.

Back on thread, to my knowledge there are no 501s currently racing here either. Not too many were ever imported to this country, for various reasons. I once rode one around the block in Merrylands shopping centre and was mightily impressed. This was the ex Kevin Bartlett playbike that had the factory race porting and small clutch mods giving it over 50hp. I wonder where that bike is today?

My wisdom? That would be like missing the clap or something ;D ;D been around , just some different projects.
