RM125S (1975) Carby to Airbox boot
« on: June 10, 2014, 07:22:33 pm »
Seeking a usable inlet boot to fit RM125S carby to airbox. Carb end ID = 58mm, Airbox end ID = 75mm.

Suzuki part number is #13881-41700. Any NOS or news of alternate fitting options appreciated.

I have a couple of manifold rubbers that are not RM125S but could fit given those dimensions. One is off some sort of 77/78 RM, I cut it down to use on an RM125M with a 34mm carby. I think though it doesn't fit because it is stepped, ie the carb bell would need to be below the airbox outlet, but look, you never know. The other looks like a better fit - it's straight, but quite short, only 35mm long. Carb end 58mm and airbox end 72mm.  Could be Husky I suspect.

You're welcome to both if you like.

Hi Graeme
Thanks for the offer and I may accept. The S airbox has the bigger outlet diameter (75mm) compared to the M airbox so it may not be suitable, but like you said "you never know".

I just had a quick measure and the length needs to be about 50 at the top and 70mm at the bottom which indicates the two flanges are not parallel. The second one may be more usable with a few modifications perhaps.

If you don't mind can I put you on hold to see if one turns up from elsewhere? If nothing eventuates within the next week I will accept.

Many thanks
Peter

yeah the pe175/rm125a on are slightly bent where the m and s are cone shaped but in 2 different sizes to fix the 28mm and 34mm carbs.try bike buzzards usa epay store as he has airbox boots for maico's with mikuni and bing carbs so one of them might work on the rms, like you im after a boot as well for my 2nd rms and when I asked on here about 2yrs ago I got told to use a pod filter and poke it threw the airbox!let me know if bike buzzards goodies will do the job ;)

I need one too  :D
I do have one on my 125S but it is just starting to split on the carb end.
I was in the states a couple of weeks ago and Dave @ Vintage Suzuki has a new one in the packet, (wouldn't sell it) but was thinking of getting them made if enough people were interested. Don't think it will happen though as I believe they were a rare bird over there.
