1983(?) XL500R project.
« on: April 09, 2014, 09:09:20 pm »
Dragged this home as part of a package deal today.
Silver Pro-Link model.
Reasonably good old bus, that's apparently had the timing chain jump a tooth or two. Turns over freely, with very little compression.

Seems to be complete apart from headlight, switch gear and RHS sidecover.
Wheels appear quite good. Front rim is date stamped 9/80, rear is 11/82.
Forks are straight, with rust spots between the triples.
No headlight, but has speedo and ignition switch with original key.
Shock seems fine.
Fuel tank is faded but very good - one shallow dent only, and basically no rust inside (has very light surface rust in places).
Rear guard broken.
Electrics appear intact.

Photos soon.

Will consider wrecking.

Bike in Yass, Southern NSW.

Nathan 0400023847.

Sold.

I SMS'd you Tony.
No Condo for me - had committed to things that have since been called off.

That engine would be worth more than the bike to a flat tracker......Peter Lee would like that I bet to make another engine to go to the States flat tracking.
QVMX.....Australia's #1 VMX club......leading the way.
