URGENT Request please - 1989 CR250 Shock Linkage Needed

Just received a call from the guy pressing the old bearings out and the new ones in on my 89 CR250 Swing arm and shock linkage.

Turns out the linkage has broken when he has tried to push the shock bearing out.  I recall pointing out to him that it looked fragile in that area and I mentioned heat but I stopped there and erred on the side of telling him how to do his job

Turns out I should have been more foreceful.

Anyway he thinks it can't be repaired easily and cheaply so I'm now on the desperate hunt for another 89/90 shock linkage.

Anyone out there help?

yes i remember that job. one of those jobes where you wished you had taken a deposit .can you take some pics and send it to our normal e-mail adress. that will give damien a head start . i have to learn to walk before they let me go home .

The linkage is not at my place and it's a fair old drive to get a picture. I would have to confirm but I think the guy doing the job wouldn't be able to send me a picture either.

Do we really need a picture at this stage?  Can I call Damien or something?

Yes you can try to ring him , but he is on his own now and matching up odd things has not priority . Perhaps even a HONDA part number will help to speed things up .

Update .. ended up having to buy a new one.

Just to share the learnings (and for peoples interests), a brand new one from Honda (available the next day) was only $310 (trade price because the parts guy at my local Honda shop loves old school VMX bikes .. who doesn't ).

So a brand new linkage with new bearings and seals already fitted for just over $300. By the time you buy the bearing kits for $140, add postage and then add the cost of getting someone to press the old ones out and fit the new ones (assuming they don't break it like my guy did) .. I think you're better off with a new part.
