Rear brake help

Got a 81 490 that has pretty much no rear brake.
Has new shoes and billet plate.
Who would be the best person to fix it ??

Prepared to pull the wheel apart and send the hub away.

No rear brake in what way?
With the wheel removed pull the backing plate half way out then move the lever by hand to see what the shoes are doing.
Could be as simple as shoes in wrong way round or they could be the wrong size and not contacting.

The new shoes have to seat in the liner!
Just drive a little and hold the brakepedal down while driving, that should help 

And make sure the backing plate is correctly engaged in the swingarm..

You can check shoe contact by using double sided sticky tape the stick emery tape to the drum. Instal the backing plate and shoes on the axle and instal in the wheel off the bike. Rotate the backing plate back and forth and check what the contact patch is on the brake linings. If it is poor then you need to keep working it until it beds in nicely. You are in effect bedding in the shoes quickly using the rough emery instead of the smooth brake drum. Of course you need the brake shoe pivots and actuating rod to have no slop. Good luck.
