you might have to buy a whole bike from the usa it very rare  that once a guy in Australia get a maico they sell it

even if you bid on the bike and tell the owner to post the engine and keep the rest ,the 83 on ebay I sent you the other day was a good deal
also theres this

thanks again Paul yep did do hava look what ya sent (83 ebay) but he has not replied  ??? Perhaps he does not want to ship?
in a way it would have been good to keep the zabel I had but it put us into pre 90 and would still cost to put a air cooled onto it and then the engine mount would have to be changed and guess what would happen if we rocked upto a title :o ??? :-[
not to mentioned we have destroyed the original MC/SC500 Kit and thats why we are not going with the RM, so yes dumb arse here has snookered himself to keep it 83/84 original and to get it going for the begining of the season :'(

Why don't you look for an '84 CR500 Honda motor, as one of those would probably be easier to find and be cheaper as well ? Or are your engine mounts already set up for a Maico ?

Yes you are right and have traveled down that path ;) so do we do that (all the work and money) then the Maico comes along :o oh ho spent the money on a honda and undid all the Maico set up ??? as it stands it has all the correct mounts, air box, exhaust etc ready to plonk in a 83/84, thats one reason why we sold the zabel, could of put a aircooled cylinder on but the 1985 to modern day use the single front engine mount, mine is the double like the 1981 82 83 and 1984.
we have been warned off useing the 82 for the sidecar but they are readidly available :P :-[ :-\ :'( in comparison
