PBBB 2014
« on: February 08, 2014, 11:18:51 am »

With Camera in hand I gate crashed MA's press conference yesterday for the announcement of the Penrite Broadford Bike Bonanza.
Penrite was announced as the new sponsor for the event.

Ken and Barry Horner of Irving Vincent fame played host for us all

I walked in the door and was invited straight to the function room, it's not all that hard to look like a Journo and I seemed to fit right in.
The function room was set up with a nice display of Irving Vincents that they make

There was no shortage of freeloaders ;D

Drakie gave a welcome speech for everyone but it felt too much like a riders briefing so I ducked outside and just read a book instead

We were then welcomed to have a look inside their factory at some work in progress
They produce other quality products as well as their bike parts

Hey GMC, why can't you machine stuff like this?..... er... what ever it is?

I had just that morning picked up a digital readout system for my own lathe and was feeling quite good about myself but not half an hour layer I had feelings of inadequacy

Machining of a crank

Here's one they prepared earlier

For offroaders the desert rallies will be a feature this year

Roger Harvey's new book was on show, and as typical for Rog it is a bloody excellent production full of photo's and info from days gone by

Rogers books always sell out quickly so be sure to be there Friday arvo when they will go on sale
$50.00 each don't miss out

A young Poppy

Stacker on something more reliable than a Maico :o

There wasn't enough time to read the book right through, there is literally hours of great reading to be had.

Drakie tells me that a lot of early bird entries are from people who haven't entered before so it is already shaping up to be another great event.
