Whereabouts of Peter Boyle?
« on: June 18, 2014, 06:18:01 pm »
Dose anyone know either where or how to contact Peter Boyle (ex Phil Thew Moto (PTM) employee /rider and multi Queensland Motocross champion in (125 and 250's and possibly 500's though not sure on that class. He did ride in the 500 class but?) from the 1970/80's circa.
After Phil Thew Moto closed its doors Peter then worked for Northside Suzuki. He also had a 40 acre plot of land out near Mt Samson off Basin Road, just north of Samford, Brisbane Queensland.
I was a good mate with Peter however due to Australian Army commitments I lost track of him back in the early 90's.
A colleague of Peter who worked at PTM with him informed me recently that he believed Peter did some part-time work for a 'Northside Motorcycle shop' and that he thorough he lived in the Samford area now.
I've tried looking for him but alas he appears to be on the 'quiet side of life' as I have not been able to find a track towards him.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to where Peter may be or a contact number, be appreciated, thanks.
Rodger

I think he is coming to CD10, a mate has his contact and he is back riding bikes with his son, will try and get him to the Conondale Classic in August.
QVMX.....Australia's #1 VMX club......leading the way.

I'd be interested to hear more,  I've lived on Basin Rd since 97.

Hi, Peter had a 40 acre property on if memory serves me correct off near the end of Basin Rd with his property backing up to the ridge line with Mt Samson just off to his properties left (south). His was back around the mid 80's or maybe early 90's. I spent any an hour/day helping Peter clear so of his land towards to ridge line from that bloody lantana weed, smuck of a scrub pest. I was out on that road to where I thought his property was but here's been some many changes to the land, housing and likes off I was not 100% sure as to where I was  :-[ I asked a local farmer if he knew of Peter but was not aware of his name...
Maybe he's moved into Samford village?
Cheers of the moment,
Rodger

Many thanks if you can contact him. He'll know who I am, distant as our time between cans of soft drinks  :D as Peter was a non alcohol drinker back then has been some time.
Cheers, Rodger

Peter won the Qld 500 MX Championship at Maleny in 1976 on a RM 370 A, Gary Flood was second on a KTM 400 and I was third on an RM 370 A.
