G or H model Yamaha or late Husky twin shock. I reckon these are the easiest bikes to get parts for and keep going. Also more than good enough to win on if you are.

I was thinking about a 1981 430 CR, many making up a Pro Cicuit replica..... If I can get hold of some early Pro Circuit goodies!

The CR430 is a great bike, I've had a couple of them along with Maico, YZ, CR, RM & KX Evo bikes over the last dozen years. If you didn't want a 490 Maico the Husky is the next best thing..
You'll struggle to find a Pro Circuit rear number plate/fender but you could replicate everything else I'd reckon.

Whatever makes you happy and won't make you cry when you need to get bits for it.
The Evo class is unusual, in that every major manufacturer has a good bike that's capable of winning at least one of the capacity classes.

Until fairly recently, I had a YZ250G. Good bike that made me happy and was easy to live with.
If I had reason to get another Evo bike, I reckon I'd go for a KX250A5 or a YZ125G, for no better reason than I like the idea of both of them.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

I agree Nathan, every manufacturer has a bike capable of winning. Besides the 490 Maico I have a KX250A5 and  CR125RA which are both cool bikes, there's really not a 'bad' bike in the Evo class..

You can get replica Pro-Circuit side plates and the DC Plastics M-Robert rear fender is as close to the genuine PC as you will find. I put a set on my 82 but thought it looked poxy... so back to standard it went.  The genuine PC Husky does look hot tho.

I agree it looks a bit weird, it looks a little long or some thing (rear guard)! The PC one looks really good!!! Maico would be good to. I just like things a little different! If I came across a genuine PC guard I would be a little scared that I'd break it :-\
