Thanks Paul,  I will send them an email. It sounds like they have all the parts available. Let me know if you have a spare tickler otherwise I can try for new.

I have a Bing 54 in , don't know much about them, can't see what I would call a tickler, it has a conventional looking choke lever arrangement

it is a little spring loaded button that pushes the float up and down to help prime the carb.  Its located at the front left on mine

looks like it has a split pin in the end of the shaft. take that out and it the tickler pulls out. Mine is just lost somewhere - it was not on the bike when I got it

ive had a look at all the carb bodys and the tickler shaft seems to have a pressed raised bit each side off the shaft (like a couple off ears) that have a washer further down the shaft that hold it in place/the tickler seems to be the same in the different carb bodys so there is  no split pin in any off them if you want a  old body with a tickler in tack ,no probs
if  mick d sees this he might know how the come apart and if the are the same   36ml and 40 ml

A replacement (new part) tickler has a split pin to hold the washer onto the bottom of the tickler shaft.The originals carbs have as Paul describes,the shaft has been crimped at the factory to retain the washer.

Just watch the postage from that Bing USA mob.
Wanted $43 postage for a float needle.
I told them no and they lost a sale.

Thanks for the heads up about postage. I have a US post box so I will see what they come back with.  The rebuild kit with floats looks like it will cost more than a new Mikuni....   :-X

The high shipping costs from Bing could possibly be because they quoted using UPS or FedEx *. Ask if they would consider USPS for an overseas shipment, you never know. I want to buy a new 38mm type 54 carby from them but don't want to end up paying more for the shipping than for the carby.

* WE SHIP WORLDWIDE
 UPS, Fed X, and US mail. Most orders ship same day.
