YZ 465 project/basket case/bit & pieces
« on: November 22, 2013, 12:01:16 pm »
I'm slowing (actually very slowing) getting my YZ465 project underway and am looking for a another bike for spares/replacement parts.  I would prefer a H model but let me know what you have....

Cheers
Andrew

I have most of a YZ465G/H that I will not be getting around to anytime soon.

The bike is in Brisbane.

Total basketcase, as in it is all pulled apart in baskets - literally.

There might be a few bits missing, but mostly all there. Most parts 5/10 condition except for Gearbox which is brilliant and crank is also very good.

The swingarm is broken, plastics are all shagged. I think the triple clamps are missing and also the CDI. The rest of the electrics are there in G.C.
Typical cracked rims, tired old levers and cables.

The crankcases are busted and repaired, all in all pretty crappy and would probably work in a pinch. The damage is around the Kicker area on the right case and the clutch input lever housing on the left case - so both stressed areas of the casings which is not ideal.

You could get it all together as a goer but I think it would be more viable to start with something better, surprisingly some of the harder to source 465 parts in this sad old bag of S#@! are quite good to exceptional though.

It will not do much good posting a photo as all you can see is a pile of bits in containers, but if there is something specific you would like a pic of, let me know.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by journalists and politicians, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
