Ha. Just found this thread. I've had a few issues with the girl but she is worth the hassle. What an awesome bike. The original tank disintegrated early in the piece so the kwaka tank was made to fit. I was told there is a fix for all the neutrals it has  ::).
If I had a dollar for all the people that asked about my Kawasaki, I'd have 3 or 4 dollars.
Good one Paul  ;D

Awesome Brad

Heard today maybe you run a Mikuni WA guy was unsure  ;D

The main gearbox fix is to fit the later model shift claw plus a few other small mods to the drum and plunger  ;)

Good to proof the poor old OSSA can WIN in the right hands

Cheers

She's running the bing. The only issue is it runs rich right off the bottom and sounds crap when Erving it. I'm sure if I spend some time on it I can fix the issue. Other wise I will get a mikuni.
I would love any details regarding an exact fix for the gearbox.

Brad,

Which Mikuni are you planning to run, 34mm or 36mm?  I ran a 34mm on my the racer I sold and the plug looked great!  I'll try to find my jetting notes.

I think I would go the 36. Were you able to make a comparison between the mikuni and the bing?

No.

I always run Mikunis.  I've never been a horsepower guy.  Even when I ran Muscle-cars in my youth I would build "Torque" motors.

Brad

The std 36mm Bing will aways make more HP ,but you will never tune the bloody thing to run clean as you have found out  ;)

Phantom inlet track is over 36mm std go to a 38mm Mikuni already posted the specs last week ,starts 1st kick a runs clean from idle to WOT
Run 4 bikes with Phantom motors  All have 38mm Mikuni even my Alron Ossa   ;D

Cheers
