Progressive Shocks.

Does anyone have any experience with Progressive Series 18 shocks similar to those shown below on the right? I bought them for $100 US which was a pretty good seeing that they list for $575. I received them this morning and they're immaculate, looking like they've done bugger all work. They look to be well made with billet aluminium bodies, external dampening adjustment and there's plenty of dampening and don't leak which is good enough for me. They'll probably find a home on one of my dirt trackers but I was curious to how they hold up to pre 75 motocross

The Progressive brand appears very popular in the USA.  I noticed on our journey this year that many of the pre -75 bikes are using them in MX and cross country

Thanks Rob, I too have noticed that our American brothers seem to like them but I can't recall anyone using them here.......or maybe I just haven't noticed. The appear to be quality products so it'll be interesting to see how they compare against my usual Works Performance shocks. One thing is for certain, the price was right.

I've been using the Progressive 12 series on my YZ125 for the last four years. I'm happy with them so far. The ones you bought must be the deluxe model.

I guess? I couldn't find my shocks on the Progressive website but managed to identify them after a Google Photo search uncovered them on a couple of accessory house websites. Here they are at MCA for $599AU reduced from $899....It makes my $100US+$67 shipping (packed in with a flat track seat and a couple of t shirts and posters) look like the bargain of the month. I got two separate pairs of Works Performance shocks a couple of months ago for around $120 per pair (one set were the uber expensive alloy version) so it pays to keep an eye out for the bargain. I've got a pair of 15.5" early finned Works shocks at my shippers right now that I paid $113US and the seller threw in an extra shock.

Seem like great value to me Firko. You don't get much for a lazy $100 these days. Even if the shocks are not exactly what you want, being rebuildable they can be revalved for reasonable money. At least someone gets lucky
