Plastic tank help needed
« on: August 19, 2013, 01:05:24 pm »
I picked up a period plastic tank off ebay earlier this month for my CZ, shape is a good match for the original coffin tank but it had no fuel cap.

The opening is similar to the original tank & I thought the cap would fit but it doesn't due to the difference.
Sizes are as follows
Original tank OD 52.5  opening 40
Plastic tank   OD 57.8  opening 38.5

What cap will fit, not sure of dimensions of the Cawi caps that VMXunlimited sell & don't want to order 1 if it's incorrect

Any help would be much appreciated

Anyone know where I can get a YZ 125h tank fixed if it has a hole the size of a matchbox?

Tank cap from an old Jawa 250-350 should fit.  http://www.motoren.sk/shop/detail/283  The inside diameter does not matter that much.  http://www.motoren.sk/shop/detail/2262/83

Didn't think of that although the road bike caps are huge, may have to raid the old mans shed when I check out what is missing off his Jawa 50
