Linkage Swap
« on: August 19, 2013, 04:40:21 pm »
Seeing that Nathan's playing hypotheticals with his Sex Max over on another thread, I'll have a go. What's to stop me welding new mounting points in both the swingarm and frame on my 1984 CR500 Honda to mount 2004 Honda CR450R linkage and shock? Seeing that you can use any shock you like and my not finding anything in the rules to tell me I can't modify the linkage mounts, what's stopping me upgrading my CR500 with 20 year newer technology?.......

Doesn't the following exclude it?

18.5.7.1 Acceptable for the pre85 class are machines and components built up to and including the 1984 model. The only exception to this rule is where the model remains unaltered after this date.
