Hi everyone on the ozvmx website,finally joined after years of looking.I live and race in sunny WA.
My interest in dirt bikes commenced in the late 70s racing junior motocross starting on the classic Honda XR 75.I continued to race until the age of 22years on a current Honda CR 250.Unfortunately severely damaging my left shoulder which took out my racing carreer until I was approximately 3oyears.Did a few more seasons but with a sick Wife at the time hung my boots up for another 8years.Saw the 'new' VMX magazine and fondly remembered the old bikes and thought I want a piece of this!
Newly divorced and with too much cash I bought everything VMX,culminating in 30 bikes!In time one realised that was a bit much :)Im now down to Ten including one modern........The bug is always there though.I belong to two great clubs VMXWA and the PRE85MX club as well as doing a bit of modern vets.I suppose my favourite era is Pre90 riding a CR500 in this division.Since being involved in the VMX scene I have raced in the States, a few nationals and the inaugural Mr VMX in 2011 and have found great camaraderie in the places I have raced from club level to international level.
Im finding the young guys in contemporary moto cross are also interested in what us old boys do.
Anyway enough of this and lets get riding which I intend to do as long as I can get aboard a bike
