Suzuki 500 twin flat tracker.
« on: March 08, 2013, 12:38:07 pm »
With the new flat track twins class coming online this season, here's a very sweet bike for a really good price. A good friend is selling her late husbands Starracer framed T500 Suzuki flat tracker. She has no knowledge of the condition or state of tune for the T500 Cobra engine but it appears to be complete from top to bottom with what looks like 34mmVM Mikunis and a decent set of expansion chambers. The frame is a Starracer that looks as if it'll polish up just fine. If you look at the photos yuou can see where Bob has polished certain sections to see if it'd come up OK. The forks are Ceriani's with a 19" spool front wheel with what looks to be a Carlilse tyre. The rear appears to be an 19" with matching Carlilse and what appears to be an Airheart disc brake. There is no tank and seat with the bike but Linda seems to think there might be a Champion tank somewhere but no promises on that....factor in it coming without tank and seat and having it shipped from Las Vegas, Nevada. If interested PM me and I'll put you in touch with the seller . Price...$2500us firm + delivery.

Here's the Trackmaster TR500 that Don Green and Ron Grant built at Suzuki for John Sperry back in the day. The engine was in full road race trim out of one of Grants TR racers. Scary.

I've also bought a bike from Linda so if anyone's interested in this Suzuki we can possibly split the shipping to Long Beach. A killing two birds with the one stone kind of thing.

I have a soft spot for the " Cobra " engine and totally agree with SON.
It would be good to see that bike over here and racing.

My Adler would be a good candidate for this twin class, with a little bit of work, it would make the grade.

Those white #41s look more like Yamahas than a T500 : an RD and a DS6, maybe.
Nostalgia's not what it used to be....

Graeme, I found the airbox & filter for the Suzuki in with my stuff. Is there anything else missing? Let me know your address and I'll get it up to you.

I agree the 'Yamaha' on the side of the engine is a bit of a give away ;D

Bloody nice things all the same 8)
