KX 250 1985 Shock absorber dilemma
« on: July 14, 2013, 08:39:39 pm »
Just started work on my 85 KX250. Got the shock pulled apart today and discovered it has seen better days.
Needs the shaft rechromed, seals etc. Also the shock body has some wear inside but mainly the body is distorted and it's very hard to screw the adjuster nuts on or off. It is bulged in the centre area of the body. Very odd indeed.
Haven't been able to locate another shock body with my searches so far. The 125/250/500 are the same part number. Idealy I'd like to find a suitable replacement shock and rebuild it instead. Anyone have a good one they'd be willing to sell? Other than that any other ideas?

Get works performance or the like to make you a new shock, you might find it's cheaper & easier in the long run ;)
